An Update

Well Christmas came in a flurry of activity. I don't think I have ever been so busy at a Christmastime in my life! I think it is because I was sending packages to Josh and this year we got Kae toys instead of clothes so that was intense. We had a wonderful holiday even though Josh and my brother weren't with us. We did get to talk to Sean (he is in Chile on his mission) and that was great! He is having so much fun down there and loving it. Kadence and I went to my mother-in-law's parent's house for Christmas Eve and had Christmas with her family. We spent Christmas with my mom and then that evening we all loaded up and went to my inlaw's to see my father-in-law's family and hang out. It was great to see everyone. Missed my dad and my Idaho family but you can't be everywhere at once! I am looking forward to next year because then Josh will be back and we will all be together again. I hope everyone had a great Christmastime and we wish you a Happy New Year!

Civil War 2009

The war for the roses. The Civil War game or the game between the Oregon Ducks vs. the Oregon State Beavers was last night. This is huge in both my fam and my in laws. Mom and I hosted a party here and had a few people over. It was great fun. Mom was the only one in Beaver garb. My dad was rooting for the Beavs from Washington. And I was dressed up for the Ducks but found myself rooting for the Beavers. :) It was a great game and a close one. Which made for good watching! The Ducks were able to pull away with a win. So congrats to them!

A little funny story. . .

So a little while ago we had T-Bone steak for supper and we gave Jayce one of the bones afterward. Well Kadence being Kadence decided to investigate what he was eating. She loves to take things from him, a habit we are trying desperately to stop. Well she went over and decided it looked good, so she took it from him and started chewing on it herself! We didn't notice until I heard her saying, "mmmmm." So I took it from her and gave it back to the dog. Next thing I know she has it again and is running away from Jayce. lol. So I ended up having to put the poor dog in a room by himself just so he could enjoy his bone. Crazy kid.

Thought I should write an update. . .

Okay well since I last wrote we have celebrated Thanksgiving and Kadence and I have been in Oregon for month! We went to my inlaws for Thanksgiving dinner. Kae met her great-great grandparents and hung out with some of the younger memebers of the family. She had a ball. It was great to meet new family and enjoy that time with them. It helped being around Josh's family with him being gone.
Speaking of Joshua, he is settled in his new area. They are not liking it as well but I think they are just trying to get through this deployment. He gets to call every once in a while and it is so good to hear his voice. His birthday is tomorrow and I am hoping that he can call so we can sing to him. :)
Kadence has a whole top row of teeth coming. Her two front ones have now broken through. She is a little irritable but I think she is doing great. Since we have been here she has gotten taller and is now into even more things. And she does love to explore and check things out. She says a few more words and her versions of them. Recently she began calling me Jess instead of mom. Hoping that changes back soon. I am having to teach her to play with Jayce nicer because she is used to patting him and it is turned into more of a hit lately. Thank heavens he is so good with her! They are so fun to watch.
I am busy getting boxes of to Josh and Sean. It's crazy having two of them out of the country this year! And I am trying to get everything else done. We have been going on regular walks, well we were until I got a cold. Hopefully we will get outside soon. I am hoping for the New Year to come soon because I just feel like that will be another corner rounded in this deployment. We celebrated the half way point about a week and a half ago. So that was nice. It's the little things we look forward to. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and I hope that this Christmas season brings joy to you and your families.

Happy Veteran's Day

The Lengstorf family just wants to wish you all a Happy Veteran's Day. As you can imagine this is a big holiday for us. With Josh overseas right now and he is already a veteran of the Iraqi war. Please keep the troops in your prayers and thoughts. And a big thanks to all those that have served. Our country is free because of their sacrifices. And to their families, who have stood by them. God Bless You.

We're moved!

So Kadence, Jayce and I made it safely to Oregon. My mom flew over Friday night and then we drove across Oregon on Saturday. Jayce had stuff falling on him a lot so we had to keep rearranging the back. Poor guy. Kae was a trooper and really didn't cry that much. We made great time and my inlaws were able to come over and help us unload. My aunt Lori and uncle Rick were so much help in Idaho and spent a lot of time and effort helping me out. So far everything is great. I am adjusting to trees and green. I have been lucky in that we have had some great Fall days over here. I was afraid it would just dump rain. We have been walking and unpacking. I am hoping to get a routine down soon and get my crafts together. I am hoping to make some Christmas gifts this year, but we will see how far I get. I am also hoping to step up my cooking skills. It should be a productive time! Hopefully :)Hope you are all doing well!

School Spirit

Well today was Saturday, which meant college football. Something our family is very much into. Earlier in the week Kae wore a BSU onsie and today I dressed her up in her Oregon outfit. She was ready to go! I think she knows when she is wearing her collegiate wear because I swear she struts around in it. Such a funny girl. She really keeps me entertained. Love being a mom!

Just an update

Well moving is more than underway now. Dad was able to stop here for a couple of days and we got so much done! He was able to get all of his stuff boxed up and moved out, so that was a big relief for me. My Uncle Rick helped dad move all the furniture out. My uncle and aunt have helped us so much. So now basically all that is left is for me to get things organized. I have so more stuff to go to storage, so I need to sort it from the stuff I am taking to Oregon. I am getting really excited. Only one week and one day left!

Joshua was promoted to corporal yesterday. And he is close to being promoted to sergeant. We are all excited for that. He is moving to a different COP so they have been busy packing up their stuff and the Army's stuff to move. I guess it has been a real pain. Last week he was on tower guard. Which is really boring. He is glad to be off for a few days. Other than that not much is going on with him.

Here are a few pics from the last few days of packing and moving. Enjoy!

Fall time!

Well we have been enjoying the Fall weather. Kadence loves being outside so we make little trips out. Today we went with my cousin Sarah, her friend Jessica, and their little boys to the pumpkin patch at The Berry Ranch in Nampa. It was a blast. We were able to pet sheep, pigs, and a heifer. Then we went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and were able to play around there for a little bit. Then went back and had lunch. Needless to say it was a blast. The kids and adults all had fun. As you can see from the pics :)

Moving again. . .

In case anyone didn't know yet, I am moving Kae and Jayce and I to Oregon. We are going to move in with my mom. And then I will spend half the time with my inlaws. I plan on getting moved over on Halloween. I have decided that I have gypsy blood. I have to keep moving. lol.

Kadence is one!

I cannot believe that Kae is already one. This has been the fastest year of my life! I can still recall the night Kae was born. And now is she walking. I have learned so much over this past year, so much more than I thought I would! Motherhood has been an incredible experience. And the most rewarding. I feel so blessed to have this little girl in Josh and I's lives. I was nervous when I got pregnant because I wasn't planning on having children for a few more years but I know that she needed to come to our family now. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan and to have Kadence was part of ours. Words cannot describe the joy, love and thankfulness that I feel for having Kadence in my life and for being blessed with such an incredible husband and companion.
We'll see what this next year brings. I am sure it will be packed with exciting new adventures!

Family pics Sept. 2009

Trying this again. . .

Okay so I had a blog on here at one time but we never got on. With Josh in Afghanistan now and our family doing more I thought maybe I would have stuff to write about and keep everyone up to date on us Lengstorf's.
Last month Josh came home for his R&R and we celebrated Kadence's birthday. Our family came from Oregon, Montana, and various places in Idaho to celebrate with us and to see Joshua. It was a great time and we had a ton of fun! Kadence is in love with the Disney Cars movie so that was our theme.
While Josh was home we went to Carey to visit my grandparents, Kae and I showed him around Caldwell and Nampa, and my mom watched Kadence for us so that Josh and I could have some alone time. Needless to say those 15 days went by so fast! He is back over there now and he won't be home for about 7 months.
Kadence is now one and walking (working on running), she has two teeth and is starting to talk and sign a little bit. She has such a personality! Such a happy baby and she is so determined. She has started throwing some tantrums and it appears that she has a healthy dose of temper. lol. Kadence is such a blessing to our family and to our lives. She is the sunshine in my day.
Other family news, my dad remarried and is living in Idaho Falls now. My mom started school this fall. My brother is in Chile on his mission. So we are all kinda spread out now. My youngest brother in law, Corey, started high school this year and my other brother in law, Brian, works on a ranch in Yoncalla and works with camels. My mother in law, Ronda, and father in law, Chuck, have their hands full keeping track of guys. It was great to see all of them last month.
I don't think there is much more right now to say. We are just gearing up for winter. I am glad to see the cooler weather but I have a feeling we still have some warmer weather coming.

cheers! jess
